APPEX Exhibition

At the APPEX Exhibition, MODA Packaging set out to challenge perceptions of cardboard by creating an exhibition stand constructed almost entirely from honeycomb cardboard. Rather than simply displaying packaging products, the stand became a live demonstration of what engineered cardboard can achieve, showcasing its strength, versatility, sustainability, and potential as both a display and protective packaging solution.

With everything from furniture and shelving to display plinths and product supports made from honeycomb cardboard, the stand attracted visitors with a simple but powerful message:

“Yes! It’s all cardboard!”

MODA Packaging wanted to demonstrate that honeycomb cardboard is far more than a packaging material. The objective was to show how a sustainable, lightweight material could replace traditional exhibition infrastructure while also highlighting MODA’s capabilities in custom protective and presentation packaging.

The stand needed to prove three key things:

• Honeycomb cardboard is incredibly strong.
• It can be engineered into functional display and furniture solutions.
• It provides a sustainable alternative to traditional exhibition materials and packaging formats.

MODA Packaging designed and manufactured a fully functional exhibition stand using honeycomb cardboard throughout the structure, including:

• Reception counter and display units
• Meeting table and stools
• Shelving and storage systems
• Product display plinths
• Custom protective packaging inserts
• Structural supports for industrial products

By exposing the honeycomb core throughout the display, visitors could clearly see how the material delivers exceptional strength while remaining lightweight.

The stand also featured custom packaging solutions designed to safely support and present heavy industrial components, demonstrating honeycomb cardboard’s ability to replace timber, foam and plastic-based alternatives.
